Since 2003, our school has offered bursaries, tuition assistance based on financial need, for children entering the first year of Montessori Elementary whose parents choose this program for them and were facing financial barriers to enrolling. Parents of children who have graduated from our school began the fund and other families and teachers have supported it.
One of our elementary students, Naomi had an inoperable brain tumour and sadly, she passed on in July 2006. All who knew Naomi realized that she was very happy at our school and excelled in all subjects. She loved learning and she loved our elementary school program.
Naomi’s parents have recently donated $10,000 to the elementary school bursary fund from Naomi’s Trust Fund. We gratefully receive this gift and join Steve and Karen in the hope this will mean that "a few more children get the same opportunity to learn and grow as Naomi received".
